The battery should have a number stamp on the top of the battery. The first digits will indicate the year of manufacture so a 09 would be 2009. The second set of numbers is the month or week. So generally, the higher the next set of numbers are, the later in the year the battery was made. Genesis batteries are one of the best SLA batteries available. Typically, have a shelf life of 3 years or more if you make sure there are properly maintained and kept in a cool, dry place. In typical use, depending on the function you require the battery to be under, they can last up to 2 years or more. For example, if you use the battery in an emergency lighting system that has a float charger built in, the battery may last over 3 years if not used. But if you are using the battery in an electric bike and are using that bike regularly, you may only get a year or less of use. I hope this has been helpful to you.
