Someone is willing to give a Hoveround chair to an elderly lady in my church, who needs one.  It has not been used for about 2 years and stored indoors in a dry garage.  We plugged in battery charger (which lit up button when we flipped on), but are wondering how long it must charge, before we can know if it works or not.  We know it says 8-16 hrs. to fully charge, but we just want to test it and the person doesn't want to leave it plugged in overnight.  When do you think we should see some power?

This sounds like you have a defective battery. Sealed Lead Acid batteries have a shelf life of about 2 - 3 years. I would replace the battery before attempting to use the Hoveround Wheelchair.
